US Supreme Court Rules on Nancy Benoit Case

Fox Sports reported today that the US Supreme Court has ruled Hustler can be sued over nude photos of Nancy Benoit that they published in March 2008, several months after she was killed by Chris Benoit.
The photos of Mrs. Benoit were reportedly over 20 years old at the time they were published. But she had asked that they be destroyed immediately after they were shot.

In October 2008, a federal judge ruled in favor of Hustler, concluding the magazine had the right to publish the images because Mrs. Benoit’s death was “a matter of public interest and concern.”

Transportation workers slowed down by Sen. Jim Bunning

Monday, March 1, 2010

When I was a youngster in Detroit, I marveled at the prowess of Jim Bunning.

The lanky right-hander was an all-star pitcher with the Detroit Tigers. Opponents had to watch out for his good curve and his slippery fastball.

Those same characteristics still apply, but now Bunning pitches for the Republicans in the Senate, representing his home state of Kentucky. This time he threw a curveball that leaves federal employees confused.

Now a deficit hawk, Bunning blocked passage of legislation last week that would have funded tax credits for health coverage for those who lost their jobs, as well as unemployment benefits and federal highway and transportation projects.

His action came like a high, inside fastball at the heads of 2,000 Department of Transportation workers. They were furloughed Monday because Bunning’s deed halted their pay. Ironically, if the furloughs continue, those employees could need the unemployment benefits and health coverage that also are being held up

Just when you thought The Real Housewives of Atlanta couldn’t get any crazier, along comes this rumor. Kim Zolciak, Bravo’s controversial wig lovin’ housewife, is reportedly having an affair with DJ Tracy Young, according to UsMagazine.com.

The alleged relationship stems from a picture that finds the reality TV starlet and the DJ casually sitting together. The picture was taken on Saturday at the Blacks’ Annual Gala in Miami Beach where a source overhead Young saying, “We’re really happy!”

Jennifer Lopez Plays Rihanna as “SNL” Mocks “We Are the World”

Rolling Stone

3/1/10, 11:11 am EST

Saturday Night Live returned from its Winter Olympics hiatus this weekend with a killer sketch poking fun at the “We Are the World 25 For Haiti” single, where SNL cast members and guest host Jennifer Lopez assumed the guises of stars who didn’t take part in the rerecording. “Recently, the music world came together to record ‘We Are the World 2,’ a song to raise awareness of the Haiti earthquake disaster; sadly, the song itself was a disaster,” intoned Kenan Thompson, as Quincy Jones, adding that the new version recruited a “sloppy mess of half-famous Brandos” before introducing “We Are the World 3: Raising Awareness of the ‘We Are the World 2′ Disaster.” (Our readers mostly agreed with “Quincy” ’s assessment.)

Kathy Ireland

(CBS) Swimsuit cover girl Kathy Ireland never did find a second career as an actress. She came up with another, far more successful business model, reports CBS News Sunday Morning Correspondent Tracy Smith:

Look at a picture of Kathy Ireland in a swimsuit and it’s clear she has some obvious assets, but this former model can count more than she’d ever imagined.
“It’s been incredible,” says Ireland. “It’s been a journey from the beach to the boardroom. And I’m loving it.”
According to Forbes magazine, her company, Kathy Ireland World Wide, brings in $1.4 billion a year designing and selling a little bit of everything.
“Let’s see,” says Ireland. “Our team designs and markets area rugs, hard surfaces, broad loom carpeting, lighting, leather furniture, home office furniture, upholstery…”
